Merry Christmas

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!! Treasure this time with your loved ones!!!

Update on my dad

Dad was hospitalized yesterday December 20. They were running tests on him and today they are moving him to Oncology. He was unable to urinate without pain.  We are hoping he will be able to be released by Christmas but I have a feeling that if not he will probably walk out on his own.

SNOW DAY!!

We had a snow day on Thursday December 20, 2012. So we made cookies, played in the snow, had hot chocolate, watched Santa Buddies and played monopoly junior! Then Peyton received an email from Santa and he is still on the good list but he needs to work on eating what mommy and daddy give him to eat and finishing his plate. It was a great day and we are ready for our Christmas vacation of playing and spending time together, love time with my baby!!!

Peyton's Special Award

On Monday December 17, 2012 Peyton was awarded a special lunch from McDonald’s with the school’s director Miss Ali Gillette.  He got this because he makes good choices at school and uses good manners.  He was so excited to be one of five kids to get this special lunch.  We are very proud of him!

Peyton's new Crucifix

At church the couple we sit next to at almost every mass gave Peyton a crucifix! He was so excited, he said it was bigger than mine but it was smaller than the one at church so he says his is medium size and then asked when we could get a big one like at church.  He asked me to buy a neckalace (the spelling is correct as this is how he says it) it warms my heart to see him so proud and excited of the crucifix.

Seeing Santa for the 3rd and final time

On Sunday December 16, 2012 we went to the Elks Lodge to see Santa for the 3rd and final time!  He was so excited to get a present!!

Seeing the Christmas Lights

On Saturday December 15, 2012 we went to see Christmas in the Park at Longview Lake.  Peyton was so excited to sit on my lap and look at the lights and sing Christmas carols.  Before we got inside the park he got to drive which he thought was AWESOME!!  He did pretty good I must say but then again he only got up to 3 miles per hour but he followed the car in front of us!  It’s so amazing to see his excitement and spirit during this time of the year, he lights up more than the Christmas lights!

Seeing Santa & Sleepover

On Friday December 14, 2012 we went to see Santa at Bass Pro Shops.  Peyton told Santa, he wanted a Police Lego Helitopter, Telescope, Helitoper & Wrestling. After seeing Santa we walked around and he played some of the games they had out for kidos at Santa’s workshop.  We headed home for dinner and we had Christmas shaped pancakes and then Peyton and I slept next to the Christmas tree for our annual sleepover.  It is always so special and we both enjoy it.  I think I enjoyed it more this year because we slept on air mattress.

Jingle McSparkles

Jingle either wanted to make cookies too or he didn't like my cookies so well.

Dads Retirement

We celebrated my dads many years of service on Tuesday Wednesday December 11, 2012.  He has been such an incredibly hard worker and so dedicated to all his clients over the years and it was so great to see so many come out to wish him well and thank him for everything he has done for them.  Dad made sure to let people know that he will be available for consults, there's no way he will ever retire completely!  We are so proud of him!!!

The Weekend!

This weekend we went to Savannah on Saturday for The Young Family photo shoot.  After the pictures we went to mom and dad’s and all us girls made Christmas cookies and goodies.  Mom made homemade cinnamon rolls which were yummy as always and then we had pizza for lunch!  Dad was pretty tired and not feeling the best that afternoon but he was a trooper with the pictures and listening to all of us crazy kids.  We had to leave early evening so Tanner could get home in order to study for finals which started today.  On Sunday Lance, Peyton and me went to church, the IHop for breakfast and then took Peyton to Hallmark to pick out an ornament, he got flying Mater.  Peyton spent a few hours with Nick & Melanie while Lance and I went shopping for Christmas.  I’m excited to say I’m DONE!!!

Update on my Daddy

Dad got his new trach yesterday December 6, 2012 and they said it would help reduce the amount of coughing, however we didn’t know that it would allow him to talk again!!  He called me yesterday and I assumed it was my mom until I heard him on the other end, it was so amazing, I was soooo excited!!!  When I got home I told Peyton I had a surprise for him and we had Facetime with Papa and as soon as my dad said “Hi Peyton, I love you!” Peyton’s eyes got so big and he said Papa can talk and he was over the moon excited!!  The road is still long but we just jumped one stone and we are ready to keep jumping them!  Peyton was so excited that God answered his prayers, so last night Peyton said mommy I’m sick so we need to pray that I get better and we did just that and Peyton slept until 5:21am, so he is absolutely convinced about prayers.  We will continue to pray for my dad but we are so happy to be able to talk to him, it truly makes things a little easier not just for us but for him and he is thrilled to be able to talk to his grandsons because he’s been missing that very much since they are not able to read yet he really hasn’t been able to communicate with them but now it’s on, what a great early Christmas gift!!

Update on my Daddy

Dad had chemo this last Monday and a good family friend went up to spend a little time with him.  Dad continues to be in quite a bit of pain but he’s a fighter that is for sure.  Yesterday dad had a blood transfusion and I talked with mom this morning and it she said he actually slept really well last night.  He goes to the doctor tomorrow for his new trach.  We are excited  as they think this will help with his coughing and will also be more comfortable for him.

Welcome Jingle McSparkles

We got the Elf on the Shelf for the first time this year and Peyton named him Jingle McSparkles! His teacher has on in the classroom and it’s name is Scardian McSparkles and Peyton adores his teacher so we let him use McSparkles but he had to come up with another first name and he choose Jingle.  It’s been so much fun for us thinking of new places every day and Peyton loves waking up every morning and searching for him, it’s a great new tradition for our family!

Santa Bus Comes to Town

On Saturday December 1, 2012 it was absolutely gorgeous outside. Peyton played with the neighbor kids and had a great afternoon. That evening we had a campfire with the neighbors and it was just a beautiful night.

On Sunday December 2, 2012 the Grain Valley Santa Bus came through our neighborhood. Peyton looks forward to this every year! When it was his turn to see Santa he told him that he wanted a Lego Helitopter (Helicopter), and remote control Helitopter, Wrestling thing and a telescope. Santa told him to be good and listen to mommy and daddy. He asked if he wanted a monster truck, Peyton said no, Santa asked if he wanted something else, Peyton said no, I told Peyton he didn’t get to get the things he asked for today he had to wait until Christmas this was just something extra and Santa chimed in as he understood what was going on, so then he said do you want a HotWheels, Peyton still said no, I want a stuffed animal, so Santa gave him The Grinch..LOL! Peyton absolutely loved it though! The boy after us did the same thing and he got a stuffed puppy. I promise Santa he’s not selfish he just loves stuffed animals! The best part we facetimed my parents so they get to see him see Santa. We then played baseball outside and it wore momma out but what a fantastic day.
