Worlds of Fun and Papa's Birthday

On Saturday September 22, 2012 we went to Worlds of Fun with my mom’s work for Altec’s Family Day. The first ride of the day was Spinning Dragons and Peyton looked like he was going to throw up or bust into tears, but daddy told him to smile and then me and grandma and daddy started laughing and fun yelling and he then started as well and in the end loved it! After the ride we went and had lunch at the Altec tent. After lunch we hit Planet Snoopy and the boys rode rides and then we decided to head out and let them ride the bigger rides and we rode the scrambler, flying Dutchman, Le Taxi cars where Peyton drove our car, the octopus, the seadragon and the flying blue French cars. Peyton loved all the rides and was sad he couldn’t ride a big roller coaster. I rode all the rides with him except the Octopus, he rode with Aunt Kyky and I rode with Braylon and the flying French cars he rode with daddy because I couldn’t handle anymore spinning rides. Me, Kylie, Michele, Bryson and my mom all rode the Mamba, while Lance hung out with the boys. We got a funnel cake and soft pretzel and of course pop in the Woodstock jug. As we were leaving the boys walked through the pumpkin patch and the graveyard that was blowing smoke and they thought that was so cool!

After Worlds of Fun we met Papa Kevin at Hereford House to celebrate his birthday. Papa’s birthday was Sunday September 23, 2012 and he was turning 58. Happy Birthday to the best daddy and papa ever, we love you!!

On Sunday we played baseball and golf outside most of the day and then Tanner came home for dinner and then headed back to school. It was a great weekend!!

Fun Filled Weekend

On Friday September 14, 2012 we went to the Elks Lodge to celebrate Grandma Di being cancer free!!  She gave all the ladies pink roses and we had a cancer free cake for her and a bunch of goodies.  She had family and friends celebrating her victory and you could tell she was very happy!  We then headed to the Royal’s game and Peyton took his best friend Dane.  They had hotdogs, pretzels & peanuts!  We got to move down to the lower level next to the pitching cage for the Angels and the boys had a blast looking down and watching them warm up.  They had the Blue Thunder Royals band from Joplin that performed and the boys really enjoyed watching the drummers!

On Saturday September 15, 2012 Peyton and I went to the Blue Springs Parade and then that evening we went to the Blue Springs Fall Fun Festival.  Peyton got to go in the play area for about 10 minutes and choose to do the Space Ship Bounce House.  Then he wanted to win a shark so he threw darts at the balloons and six dollars later won a shark and named him Sharky! He was so excited they had the emergency vehicles there and he got in the fire truck and then he got to get in the ambulance (alieance, as Peyton says) and he pretended to drive and then got in the back and had tons of questions about what everything was.  We got a funnel cake and listened to the band performing for the military service members.  After the festival we went to the Robin and Kendra Belzers for their annual Fall Party and Peyton got to ride a pony.  He played with all the kidos all night, they ran around, they played baseball and had a blast!  Sunday was a lazy day for us, we did cookout and spent the evening outside with our neighbors watching the kids play.

Wedding, Camping and Birthday..what a weekend

On Saturday September 8, 2012 Peyton and I went to my cousin Nathan Young’s wedding in Weatherby, Missouri. After that we headed to Union Star to go camping and Lance met us up there, our first time as a family. We went with The Howell family on Andrea’s dad’s farm. Peyton and had fun fishing with Austin and Allie Jo, however he didn’t catch anything and Austin did but he was okay with that. When Lance arrived he and Alvin started putting up the tent and our first camping accident occurred, the rod on the tent snapped and ended up cutting off a portion of Lance’s finger (which will heal but there will be an indention but he can do a skin graph if he decides to). After that we started dinner we had fresh croppy and then we made a drunken chicken as well. I actually loved the croppy first time I ate fish and liked it. The kids had hot dogs! Then we had a campfire and the kids made smores. It was a nice evening and everyone went to bed and Lance and I stayed up for a bit and that’s when the second injury occurred, he missed the step and fell next to the fire pit and then wind blew at the same time and caught his sleeve on fire and burn his wrist on the other hand. We finally called it a night, me and Peyton slept great, Lance didn’t sleep well because of his hands throbbing. We got up the next morning and went 4 wheeling and Peyton got to drive Austin’s 4 wheeler by himself and absolutely loved it.

After we were done camping we headed to Monkey Cove at Ramada Inn for Braylon’s 5th Birthday Party. The kids swam and had a blast. Peyton was eating everyone’s chips and soft pretzels and then had two cupcakes.

When we finally made it home we snuggled up and watched The Incredibles and called it a night!

Happy Birthday Bray!

Happy Birthday to our nephew Braylon Austin!! Bray turned the big 5 on Wednesday September 5, 2012!! It’s his golden birthday, he’s 5 on the 5th!!!

Happy Anniversary to us!!

Lance and I celebrated our 8 year anniversary on Tuesday September 4, 2012.  He got a baby sitter, thank you Missi Omstead for watching Peyton and we went to dinner at Houlihan’s.  It was nice but weird to have dinner just the two of us and we decided we definitely need to do this more often.  We over ate but it was so good, we had lettuce wraps and stuffed mushrooms to start and then Lance had a French Dip and I had cream cheese herb baked chicken and mashed potatoes, which was absolutely delicious!! Lance wanted to get Sheridan’s but we were both so full, we skipped that, next time!!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a great holiday weekend! We had a campfire on Friday night, granted it was raining but we were under the deck and we had a fire and music so it was a great evening!!
                                           We had a visitor!!

On Saturday but we got up at 7:54am so we could watch the Notre Dame Fighting Irish take on Navy, they played in Dublin, Ireland.  Lance made me breakfast in bed, it was green beer in a wine glass, we did drink the one glass for the game.  It rained all day so we had family day just the three of us, we laid around and watched football and movies all day, much needed lazy and family day for us.

On Sunday I made a new breakfast to try, it was okay but missing something so we probably won’t be having it again. It was a beautiful day and we had Tanner’s 19th birthday/pool party.  It was great to spend the day with family and friends, we had a great dinner and of course we had desserts, Tanner requested dessert and something new for his birthday so I made a chocolate peanut butter goo cake and cookie dough brownie cups, which both were delicious and will be made again! It was a great day swimming and playing different yard games.

On Labor Day we spent the day again just the three of us being lazy watching movies!
