Ice Skating

Peyton attended his first time Ice Skating at the Independence Event’s Center on Tuesday August 28, 2012.  He did great, he smiled and loved every minute of it.  He would hold his arms out and then stomp around and when he fell down he would get right back up and keep going.  He says he’s ready for Hockey.  We had a long talk about playing sports and stuff and I explained to him that he can play whatever he wants, he stuck with hockey last night but we figure we will give him a few days and then see if he brings it up again or ask if there are any sports he wants to do, we want him to make his own decisions and not feel like we are making him do something.

Family Weekend

This weekend was fantastic!!  On Saturday Peyton and I did a lot of running around and then that evening we went to Beth Wheeler’s wedding to Zach.  Peyton had fun eating skittle as they were the centerpieces and then he did the dollar dance by himself and danced with Beth.  He had a blast running around with the other kids and especially spending time with his girl Allie Jo. On Sunday we did a little running around with daddy and then hung out by the pool and swam and then had dinner on the deck and more swimming, it was a much needed family day with just the three of us.

Tanner off to college

We moved Tanner to college at UCM (University of Central Missouri) on Sunday August 20, 2012. The night before we had his favorite dinner Buffalo Chicken Chili Mac, I had made dessert but we were all to full, so we had dessert for breakfast before we moved him to college. He was very excited a little nervous but he will do great. As of now he doesn’t have a roommate but hopefully he will get a roommate in the next few weeks. The boys he shares a bathroom with are very nice and their parents seem very nice as well. He is living on the aviation ship (dorm hallway) and is on the first floor so that is extremely nice. Once he was all moved in we walked around campus and he took care of getting some things done. He started classes on Tuesday August 21, 2012. He has a pretty easy schedule this first semester and is seems excited to learn about the different majors so he can hopefully pin down something. He may have a job lined out in Warrensburg so that will be nice and they are open until noon on Saturday’s and closed Sunday’s so that will allow him some free time on the weekends.

This week Lance and Peyton made a trip to Warrensburg to take Tanner out to see about the job, not a glamorous one its detailing cars but its money until something better comes along and it’s good hours! Peyton was excited to take a picture of a fish he colored to him, not sure Tanner will hang it up but I think it’ll mean a lot to him.

The Weekend

Peyton and I went to Spring Family Fun Day at Power and Light on Saturday August 18, 2012. We met my friend Cindy, her husband Kyle and daughters Kaylee and Jordan. The kids enjoyed standing in a pool and a bubble going over them and then doing a balloon pop and getting balloons made, Peyton got Spiderman. They played in the bouncy house, got ice cream and Peyton sported a milk mustache, super cute and then they got to draw on balloons and then have them blown up. It was a great afternoon. However we stopped to see daddy on our way home and the balloon got loose so we had a little melt down but when we got home and the girls got there to swim he was fine and they had a melt down when one of their balloons popped on the way home as well. We spent the afternoon swimming and then that evening we had family dinner with Tanner before we took him to college.

Preschool

Peyton started preschool on Wednesday August 15, 2012.  He is very excited and he said he wants to be an Airplane Pilot when he grows up.  They have 45 kids in his preschool class but they are going to separate them into A and B groups and Peyton is in B group.  They are currently working on Spanish “Hola, Adios, and counting to 15), doing months of the year, days of the week (very cute song) counting by 10 to 100. They will be starting Jolly Phonics and Handwriting without Tears after Labor Day.  I’m very excited about the field trips and the pumpkin patch is scheduled for October 17!!
